PS3Key : Activation process + Software installation

Tutorial of PS3Key™ dongle starting with Backup Manager installation.

Prerequisites:
- PS3Key™ dongle with the latest update
- PS3/PS3™ Slim console in 3.41 firmware
- backup_manager_v1.0.pkg file on removable storage support FAT32 formated

NB: It is possible to install more advanced versions of the Backup Manager like Open Manager or AVCHD Game Manager (MultiMAN)

Process of jailbreak activation :
1. Console off with power switch off or power cable unplugged
2. PS3Key dongle plugged into USB slot
3. Turn on the console (switch ON or cable plugged in)
4. Press POWER then quickly EJECT : Console beeps !
5. The dongle lights up red then turns blue
6. The menu pops up with new folders in Game menu :
* /app_home/PS3_GAME/
* Install Package Files
7. The console is in debug mode (= jailbreaked)

Process of Backup Manager installation :
8. In debug mode, insert removable storage support with .pkg file at the root
9. Go into Game -> * Install Package Files and press "X"
10. Choose "manager.pkg" and press "X"
11. When install completed, press "O"
12. The Backup Manager icon is now displayed in the Game menu
