From next May 19 (Thursday), a new dashboard update (kernel 13146) will be available on Xbox LIVE™ that incorporates a new protection called XGD3 ("XboxGamesDisc3") used for upcoming future titles.
The particularity of this update is that it systematically reflashes the drive firmware of the console with a new version of firmware compatible XGD3.
[EDIT from 11.05.27] Performed on a flashed console, this update causes resetting of the firmware drive making it ineffective for both play burned games or to dump the key.
Therefore we caution the console owners, whose drive is flashed to not update their console over the Xbox LIVE™ with this new update.
However, if some of our XBOX 360™ FAT owner customers came to reset their drive, we are able to reflash their drive through our original dump archive.
In contrast, no solution exists for Slim model owner customers.
C4Eva currently working on a modified firmware compatible XGD3 and we will keep you informed of its upcoming availability.
